Thovile

A sarong that embodies an age old tradition of Sri Lanka, a Thovile. A ceremony that encapsulated the mystical & spiritual side of our culture, consisting of healing rituals that involve mythical reenactments, fire-dancing, and the dispelling of demons, with the aim of restoring well-being and banishing evil spirits. Some ceremonies go on all night, with the sounds of the drums and masked dancers transcending one reality to the other to channel a supernatural source. Set in a deep jungle surrounded by nature, dense foliage, a prowling leopard, a smaller wild cat, and tropical birds.

The vibrant and bold design ensures that the sarong not only serves as a piece of clothing but also as a storytelling garment that celebrates Sri Lankan culture and tradition.
